Greetings from Chiang Mai! I thought this would be a good addition to our website. I’ve attached pictures here and the text here. Thank you so much and God bless.
“Art, color, and imagination allow people to exercise the creativity that is often forgot about and left in childhood but remains a core part of our identity as beings that love to create. Art therapy helps us reconnect with our bodies and minds, relaxing and comforting the parts of ourselves that we may have lost touch with. Recently Astrid, a social worker and art therapist from Australia, came to visit us and lead some activities with our mothers. She worked with them to find activities that help them relax and gave them the space to explore the feelings and emotions people often hold in their bodies. Volunteers, Anya, Macey Hallie, and Janis, worked alongside Astrid and learned many new insights about how art can relax the body. Through bubbles, photography, scribble drawings, and more, our mothers were able to practice their creative side and were introduced to new exercises that they can come back to in times of stress.
